The sports of golf and American football have been known to cross regularly. Many of the PGA Tour’s biggest names use their free time to follow their favourite team, while plenty of NFL stars spend their off-season working on their handicap.

Payne Stewart was one of golf’s most colourful characters until his life was tragically cut short in 1999. For the majority of his professional career, the American had a sponsorship deal with the NFL that involved him wearing the colours of the football team based in the city at which the PGA Tour was stopping that week.
